Our Story
The story of us
Our love for “the country” began as children while visiting the best person in the world- Aunt Mary. Summer days started with the smell of cheese and eggs (one of her specialties) and instant coffee sipped from a teacup saucer; then segued into foot races, bicycle rides, and dinner. We read books, escaped to the pond, and caught lightning bugs in jars before supper. Ellaville personified our childhood dreams!
Fast forward to 2013, the property was in need of heavy restoration. The children of yesteryear were now adults with bills, houses, and residences in other cities, but there was always the desire to “return” to make this place great. Who doesn’t yearn for their childhood dream? We began updating the home five years later and it has been a magical ride ever since. Our family wants to share this feeling with cherished guests. As of 2023, the main cottage and grounds are available for the enjoyment of others, but we are still a “family” place first.
Our two locations- Lavender & Pine Cottage and La Petite Venue- offer flexible options for your special occasions. They may be rented separately or are available as a complete package. We have several pre-set packages but are able to accommodate much more. Here are a few details to pique your curiosity:
LAVENDER + PINE
- Historic home built in the 1920s and has been in the same family for four (4) generations
- Property sits atop a bluff surrounded by 7 acres of natural landscaping- events may be held on the grounds
- Cottage has 4 bedrooms, 2.5 baths, family room, den, laundry, kitchen with appliances and dishware, outdoor living areas
- Gorgeous tongue and groove wood walls throughout
- Large multi-level grounds allow for several style events in one property
- Three distinct areas for events: plateau, great distressed oak, and natural pine grove
LA PETITE VENUE COMING MARCH 2024!
- Offers a "city" vibe in the heart of main street Ellaville
- 1500 SF space in historic building with gorgeous original brick flooring and soaring ceilings
- Chairs and tables included with all rentals (up to 50 persons)
- Includes stylized décor that is suitable for all types of events
